Stanton IP Law Firm to leverage over 15 years in the technology industry to revolutionize the traditional law firm model in order to deliver results oriented, client centric representation to clients nationwide. The law firm will be focused on protecting, enforcing, and monetizing intellectual property rights for businesses and individuals
Thomas H. Stanton, former President of BrixTec, Inc. and graduate of Stetson College of Law, has started Stanton IP Law Firm, P.A. The new firm will focus on protecting, enforcing, and monetizing Intellectual Property rights for their clients by obtaining patents both in the US and abroad, trademarks at both the federal and state levels, copyrights on works of art, and keeping trade secrets confidential.
“This is a special opportunity for me to bring to the marketplace a unique perspective that combines entrepreneurial, technology, and legal skillsets in order to provide the highest quality legal services to our clients,” Stanton said.
“Many businesses get frustrated with the legal profession because there is often a disconnect between the goals of the business and the objectives of the attorney.
I dealt with this many times during my business career. With this knowledge in hand we can offer our clients superior counsel, without the constraints and costs of hiring a large firm.”
Having many years of experience in both the startup and high-tech sectors, the new firm brings a unique perspective to their clients. One that focuses not just on the legal aspect of the solution, but also the business impact and the overall effect on the organization. This can include software development agreements, licensing contracts, service level agreements, cloud computing agreements, and other technology related agreements for their clients.
After spending 10 years in the IT field, and at the ripe age of 35 Thomas Stanton decided to make a career change and become an attorney. He attended Stetson University College of Law and acquired an LLM in International Economic Law from the University of Toulouse, France. He is now a licensed patent attorney in both New York and Florida with focus on cutting edge computer technologies and related intellectual property protection.
The firm is located in downtown Tampa. “It is important to me to be in Tampa’s central business district to best serve our clients and participate in the dynamic growth that the city and region is experiencing. Our firm is another sign of the city’s renewed entrepreneurial spirit and we look forward to supporting it,” Stanton said.
