Greer Briggs-Lake, Esq.

A Caribbean native, Greer was born and raised in the twin isle Republic of Trinidad & Tobago and has always been passionate about helping others. Prior to becoming a practicing attorney, Greer worked as an electrical engineer for a utility company in the Tampa Bay area, working her way up from a co-operative education student to a principal engineer. With almost a decade of experience as an engineer, Greer has gleaned a unique perspective while working on both the distribution and generation side of the utility industry. While pursuing her engineering degree, Greer volunteered with organizations like Kids Café at the Boys and Girls Club, Metropolitan Ministries, Hands On Tampa, Joshua House, and Caribbean Community Association, Inc.

While at Stetson, Greer was a recipient of the Jason C. Mason Scholarship and a recipient of the William F. Blews Pro Bono Service Award. She started her legal career in probate, then moved into financial compliance, estate planning and trademark law, before joining Stanton IP Law Firm, P.A. Greer grew up around entrepreneurial parents and understands that working hard for what you want matters, and that protecting what you have worked for is essential.

Greer enjoys working in the community and has volunteered and provided pro bono legal assistance with Gulfcoast Legal Services, Inc., from 2016 – 2017; and continues to participate in the Bay Area Volunteers Lawyer Program (BAVLP), from 2016-present, and currently serves as Executive Secretary of the Caribbean Community Association, Inc., from 2017 – present.

Greer resides in Tampa with her husband and children.
